Green Stories run a series of writing competitions across various formats to solicit stories that showcase what a sustainable society might look like. Our competitions have been granted excellent status by Reedsy and The Alliance of Independent Authors.
Since 2018 we have run over 21 free competitions which have resulted in numerous publications. Open to all. Entries must be in English and unpublished. Our mission is to create a cultural body of work that entertains and informs about green solutions, inspires green behaviour and raises awareness of the necessary transformations towards a sustainable economy.
What competitions are currently open?
We are running a short film competition (deadline 31st December 2026) where film makers/animators or students make a short film (under 2 minutes) about a moment when a character changes for the greener. Details here.
If you could sponsor a competition for films of longer lengths suitable to include in a film festival where we show winners, or run a course on film-making/animation where your students could take part, please get in touch.
